The Marra Guwiyap/Croxton Community Garden is a volunteer-run, organic community garden by the railway line in Northcote, inner-north Melbourne. Once a decrepit plot of land, it is now a healthy, thriving organic garden with a strong sense of community.
We aim to enhance the well-being and sustainability of the local community through what is so much more than a garden.
Our Wurundjeri name was authorised by the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation – ‘Marra’ for community and ‘Guwiyap’ for food. We acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land, on which we get to grow this food and nurture this community.
New members are always welcome. Visit us on Sunday mornings at the garden from 10am-12pm: 30-40 Spencer Street, Northcote.
